IBA develops, manufactures and supports medical devices and software solutions for cancer treatment by proton beam therapy, for cancer diagnosis and for patient quality assurance (Dosimetry).
Olivier Legrain (CEO) does not believe in top-down management. This is why each and every member of the company takes part in the decision making process. At IBA, the atmosphere is laid back, interactive and serious at the same time. Employees are happy and passionate about their work and it shows in the results as IBA has grown a lot these last few years.
IBA’s steering committee and 120 managers gathered for two days to present the group’s strategy
These 2 days were paced by interactive presentations.The first day began with a presentation of Olivier Legrain (CEO) in which he had engaged his audience with Wooclap through live polls he created himself a few minutes before beginning his speech. During his presentation Mr. Legrain asked his staff what the result of the poll on employees’ engagement was via the “Guess a number” interaction. Both the average and extremum had been displayed on the screen while everyone was responding. This result was then compared with the actual value which was 71%.
A few slides later, Mr. Legrain (CEO) asked the audience what the name of their 2016 strategic exercise project should be. The name that stood out the most was “IBA BOOST”. It should be noted that the results were displayed in real time!
Before moving on to the Q&A session, Mr. Legrain ended the presentation with a poll about IBA whose result was unanimous.
After that, the audience asked questions via Wooclap to their CEO. Those questions were moderated by Frédéric Nolf (Chief Human Resources & Sustainability Officer) who was reading them on his tablet. Unlike most moderators, Mr Nolf (CHRO) read each and every message, including jokes, which he didn’t hesitate to answer.
